KARMIN RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM AND PREMIERES NEW VIDEO FOR “I TOLD YOU SO”

Above is the latest video for Karmin’s follow-up single, “I Told You So”. The song appears on the duo’s debut LP Hello, which was just released today (Tues. 5/8)! You can get your copy right here!

Scratch Makes A Music Video With Karmin

Team Scratch made a video with Epic artist Karmin, and this breakthrough effort, “I Told You So,” premieres today on MTV, mtvU, MTV Hits and MTV.com. Truly a labor of teamwork, vision and passion, “I Told You So” represents a unique coming together of the various talents that makes Scratch exceptional.

Inspired after seeing Karmin’s self-made videos online, Scratch approached the band to collaborate on an original music video. Shot in the still-being-converted (so it’s mostly empty and kinda spooky) Pfizer pharmaceutical plant in Brooklyn, the video was shot in one long, long day. Every member of team Scratch – from assistants to executives, producers to researchers – chipped in and contributed to the production behind or in front of the camera. Or both!

So, for the week of May 7^th, Karmin will be the MTV PUSH (Play Until Someone Hears) featured artist. As most of you know, MTV selects a new PUSH artist each week and then spotlights the artists across all platforms- TV, web, mobile-including music video rotations on the appropriate channels (MTV, MTV2, mtvU, MTV Hits, MTV Jams). Also featured is exclusive interviews on-air via MTV’s various news sites (MTV News, MTV Buzzworthy, MTV Hive), as well as intimate performances and live stream concerts.

Karmin is also MTV’s POSTED artist for the month of May. POSTED is a digital franchise that provides music fans with a singular destination to find social media updates, videos, news and photos of their favorite artists. Each month, MTV, VH1 and CMT each select an artist to spotlight. POSTED lives on each channel’s web and mobile properties as a space that connects artists directly with their fans in real time by aggregating all social feeds as well as spotlighting video content recorded by the artist exclusively for MTV, VH1, or CMT.

The video was directed by the very talented Brian DeCubellis.

If The O.C. was still on the air (R.I.P.), we have a feeling you’d find The New Limb on their soundtrack.

This Costa Mesa indie quartet are masters of harmony, with girl-and-guy vocals soaring in tandem over pianos, gentle acoustic guitars, and tinkling tambourines.

It’s light and uplifting; think Stars, colored with a little California sunniness (cue Marisa riding on the back of Ryan’s bike along the pier….)

It’s that kind of fresh, not-synthesized indie that seems to be pretty rare these days, but we wish we heard more.

Luckily, you don’t have to wait until their new album drops to get your dose of The New Limb, since we have an exclusive preview on their latest track, “Tell Us Your Name”

Give it a listen, and pump yourself up for their next show at The Satellite in L.A. on April 17th.

We’re sure Seth Cohen would approve.

The New Limb is one of our favorite up-and-coming bands right now, and their latest single “Refugees” is AMAZING.

We liked this song from the start, but after reading The Hunger Games,we decided that it should be the unofficial anthem of the story (especially the 2nd book).
