No Pulp Music--founded in October of 2008-- is a combination between an online magazine and blog. Our staff includes musicians, industry folk, writers, photographers, and people who just plain like to jam. There is no formula to the site posts, and our coverage ranges from random music rants to more traditional article-style album and show reviews. The site also features a photography section for a glimpse into live showaction and a digital vinyl player to listen to some of our current jams. No Pulp Music will soon have a video aspect of the site, so stay tuned for that addition.

An extension of No Pulp Music, The No Pulp Music Group: Artist Representation, Booking and Publicity is gaining more momentum. The company was founded by partners Lindsay Gilbert, Michelle Fantus and Jay Metcalf. In Addition to two fundraiser events that are taking place in 2009, The No Pulp Music Group will be putting together dozens of other music events throughout the year in New York City, and various other cities around the country

Hi! I’m Kelly and I’m of course from Ohio. I have been in NY for just over one year and have somehow managed to befriend mostly Ohio natives. Including the creator of this amazing site!! I have had the opportunity to attend one of the top ranked party schools, Ohio University for 4 years as well as the football crazed Ohio State Univeristy for one year. Why two colleges and 3 majors? I guess it’s safe to say I am indecisive.

This explains why I may venture to CA by summer ’09. One thing that will never change is my passion for music. Given the chance to travel back in time and attend Woodstock without being able to come back to my current life, I would do it in a heartbeat. My friends call me a modern hippie and I’m okay with that! I attended my first rock concert at 12-years-old and spent the majority of my time locked in my room listening to music my parents hated. (Notice I said, rock concert... I’m embarrassed to say what my actual first concert was) At 14, I was hired on to what would become my summer job for the next 8 years at the outdoor amphitheater formally known as Polaris or Germain. During those 8 years I attended some of the best and worst concerts...too many to count.

Having been an avid concert goer for the last 12 years, the variety of live music available on any given night is what I love most about NYC. However, the best concert I’ve been to lately was Lollapalooza ’08 in Chicago. To be honest, I was unsure if I would make it out of Rage Against the Machine alive (but holy s#$! it was worth it!) Obviously, I did and am now honored to be contributing to NoPulp! I am stoked to be a part of this project and hope you all enjoy what is to come!!
