Stanley From ‘The Office’ (AKA Leslie David Baker) Releases Hot Music Video

This is one BIZARRE slash HILARIOUS video.  Because we love The Office and Stanley’s character, this is oddly enjoyable to watch.  Haha.  And lucky us, the song is actually up on iTunes for our weird listening pleasure.

Spinner answers our question of “WTF?”:

Stanley Hudson (or Leslie David Baker, as he’s known in reality) has been a staple in the American ‘Office’ television series since day one. Lazily dabbling with sales figures while forever finishing a crossword puzzle, Stanley has become such an office grouch that his name is almost synonymous with lethargy, though recent events might make you think otherwise. Carrying on an extramarital affair while minting the new catchphrase “Shove it up your butt,” Stanley has become the new Dunder Mifflin bad boy. And what better way to play out that plot line than with some musical accompaniment?

To that end, Baker has released his first music video, ‘2 Be Simple,’ without the cloak of his fictional character. He plays a “Black Hugh Hefner” who has his own version of the Playboy Mansion. Through Auto-Tuned splendor and an infectious hook, the singer actor delivers rousing rounds of dance-pop while shaking his heavy trunk. His desire for you to “Meet [him] on the dance floor” is a plea at best, but Baker’s lyrics totally capture the daydreams of a middle-aged man in crisis.

The video also includes a strange side-plot about Baker’s true affections: A woman dressed as a maid stalks him and, well, it gets weird. Check out ‘2 Be Simple’ below and look out for the LMFAO impersonators.

OK Go — “This Too Shall Pass”
    (Rube Goldberg Machine version)

This is quite possibly our favorite music video ever.  Paste Magazine named it the best music video of 2010, and we have to agree.  It’s like that childhood game, Mousetrap, on crack, with hot men, and great music.  Thumbs up!

What’s your favorite music video of 2010?
